Implantology

Important information for patients

Implantology is a field of dentistry which refers to in-bone implants (teeth implants).

This modern branch of dentistry opens up new possibilities to patients who for different reasons have lost one or more teeth. Thanks to implants the grinding of the teeth is not necessary to use the target prosthetic teeth. Implants are also a solution for edentulous patients. In many cases implants are the only solution ensuring a new quality of life.

Preventive dentistry

Preventive dentistry is a field of dentistry that includes the diagnostics and the treatment of the defects in the hard tissue of the tooth.

Defects may be a result of the ongoing caries process as well as of mechanical or chemical injury. To fill the cavity there may be used dental curing light materials. The dynamically developing industry of light curing materials ensures implementation of permanent and aesthetic restorations. While performing procedures in the field of conservative dentistry; X- ray diagnosis, endodontics and elements of prosthodontics are used by our doctors.

Prosthodontics

Prosthodontics is a wide field of dentistry which refers to replacing damaged or missing teeth and restoring a complete function of chewing by means of fixed restorations (e.g crowns, dental bridges) as well as mobile devices (partial dentures, complete dentures). There is also a possibility to restore missing teeth by combining both types of prosthodontis solutions(prosthesis with clips).

Endodontics

Endodontics is a branch of dentistry which is concerned with the morphology, physiology and pathology of the human dental pulp and periradicular tissues. One of the endodontists' most frequently occurring tasks is treatment of the root canal. A dentist will use special tools to clean out all of the diseased pulp and extend a root canal. Then the canal is cleaned with antiseptic. Following that, the canals are filled in by means of gutta percha and appropriate sealers. X-Ray diagnosis is an essential element of root canal treatment.

Endodontic treatment is required for extensive dental cavities with pulp inflammation, pulp necrosis, tooth fracture or tooth laxation, and in same case for prosthetic reasons.

Radiology

Dental radiology is a field of the diagnostic dentistry using X-rays. It is used in other fields of dentistry. Nowadays dental radiology means a safe source of X-ray and digital recorders what results in high quality pictures to be further computer processed with the use of special programmes.

Dental prevention

Dental prevention is the complex system of activities aiming to prevent mouth diseases by early detection and treatment. We apply it firstly through fluoridation, fissure sealing, scaling, establishing of the appropriate hygiene patterns (brushing instructions, formation of appropriate eating habits). In the next stage thanks to periodical check-ups and X-ray pictures, we monitor the state of the teeth and periodontium.

The final activity is the prevention of the consequences of the diseases because of their early detection and treatment, and also stopping the advancement of a disease and limiting complications.
